Science is awesome. It has done a swell job of teaching us about our ape origins; it has helped ease the grip and stray away from dogmatic, ludicrous religion systems; it has brought forth everything from the light bulb to the Internet. The list of inventions and wonderful break-throughs that can be attributed to science goes on and on. But to claim that because you are scientifically literate does not mean you have the God-like power to call bullshit on everything that doesn’t fit into the paradigm of science; this is an extreme act of hubris I have come to understand.
It almost seems we have come to the point where we have a “priesthood” of scientists who think that they, smug and pretentious in their brevity, possess the “correct” view of reality/the Universe. They shove this viewpoint down the throats of us all with the same force as dogmatic religions have for centuries.
